GEAR TESTS: Olympus PEN E-PL5

Not knowing what we would be seeing that day, I took both a macro and wide setup with me to shoot with the Olympus E-PL5. With the Olympus PT-EP10 housing, it only took a couple of minutes to change lenses, check O-rings and change ports. The E-PL5 worked well shooting corals, sponges and my fellow divers. Since it was a fisheye, I had the option of getting all 3 subjects in the frame at the same time. Otherwise, I could get within inches of the long tube sponges and manage to get the entire subject full frame with great exposures. The E-PL5 also did well shooting into the sun for both sun ball shots and subjects blocking the sun. The 60mm lens worked well for both small critters and fish portraits. It has a very close focus that allows you to get close to the subject, but you have to be careful not to spook the creature or bump your system into the reef in the process.
